FOOD
There are several places in Monteverde where you can find groceries. The best place is the "Supermercado La Esperanza". For restaurants recommendations would be the Morphos Restaurant in Santa Elena and the Sofia and Delucia Restaurants in the Cerro Plano area, or the Tramonti which features Italian cuisine. And for a great breakfast or lunch be sure to eat at the famous Stella's Bakery which is a great place to stop (opens 6:00AM) early on your way to the Reserve.
BANKING
There are 2 banks in Santa Elena, the Banco Popular and the Banco Nacional de Costa Rica, and there are 2 ATM machines in town you can use.
TRANSPORTATION
There are several ways to get in and out of Monteverde depending on where you are going or coming from. Private transportation, rental cars, public bus. Below are the bus schedules. If you need driving directions just send us a mail!

MEDICAL SERVICES
There is a pharmacy just down the hill from the supermarket (Farmacia Monteverde) in Santa Elena. There is a doctor at this pharmacy in case of emergency. Doctor Rosales 645-7110. |
